PWYC Community Rates
In an effort to make my services more accessible to clients with a diversity of financial backgrounds, I will be offering 2 pay-what-you-can appointments per month.
Community Rate appointments are priced on a sliding scale of $0-225/hour.
These appointments are available to clients who typically do not have the financial flexibility to be tattooed by me, especially BIPOC, queer, trans, and disabled community members.
This is an honor-based system intended for community members who experience systemic inequalities that make it difficult to pay my normal rates without risking compromising their basic needs.
I am only able to offer this service thanks to clients who do support me financially, so it truly is an offering from the wider community.
If you’d like some guidance on if you should request a community rate appointment and how much to pay, here is a visual guide that can help you figure out where you might land on the sliding scale.
I ask for a $50 deposit, which reserves the appointment date and covers the cost of basic supplies.
On the day of the appointment, clients are welcome to pay what is feasible for them, even if it means not paying anything additional. I will also gladly accept service trades and offerings of goods in lieu of monetary payment.
Please note that I may not accept every Community Rate appointment request. In order for me to continually offer this service, projects I take on must be physically sustainable for me as an artist who works using their body, in addition to being creatively aligned with my practice. However, please do not let this discourage you from sharing your authentic vision with me! If in doubt, please submit a form anyways, and we can discuss possibilities.
I am only able to offer Community Rate appointments at my home base studio in Oakland, California.
